Connector on shifter is more standard 0.1, just about anything will do. I
used some MTE style.
Good luck trying to individually crimp the pins on the 1.25 connectors. I
think they do make a hand
tool but it's $$. If you can find some prefab w/wires already attached it's
the way to go for small volumes.
I have not looked very hard so I don't whats available.
I was able to harvest some wires with pins from my junk box.

The Hirose DF13 series should work.
DigiKey H2181-ND is the 4 pin female housing
H3307-ND is the 4 pin male header (solders to the breakout-gs)
Search for H4BXG to find preassembled wire with connectors which fit
the female housing
The wires are 2-12 inches long, available in a variety of colors, and
28 or 30 gauge.
