Maybe you are thinking of the OTG port, the host port can provide 500mA. I
can confirm the Edimax version of the adapter you link to works, even in an
un-powered hub. Even my high-power Alfa AWUS036NEH seems to work fine.
Both at the same time is too much for it to handle though.
