Really? What are you having to do? I simply installed ubuntu 9.10 and then set up my build environment as following these instructions here. http://www.gumstix.net/Setup-and-Programming/view/Overo-Setup-and-Programming/Setting-up-a-build-environment/111.html and it "just worked" out of the box. I've built many console images, kernels and other bits and bobs. I did have it go all screwey on me once during a desktop build but I just cleared out the ~/overo-oe and re-ran the commands for building the build env and it was all fine. I can only compile this module if I comment out everything having to do with i2c buildroot in it and in /home/mkhalili/gumstix/gumstix-oe/tmp/work/gumstix-custom-verdex-angstrom-linux-gnueabi/robostix-1.0-r0/robostix/Makefile I am aware of recommendations for downgrading all the gcc and avr stuff to 4.1 and avrlib to a version that would go with them. I should mention I am building for Verdex Pro but I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I have to follow the setup guide and continually apply the edits here: http://www.gumstix.net/wiki/index.php?title=Build_Environment_Ubuntu_9.04 Plus I also have to make a modification to defconfig.c which seems to be specific to Ubuntu 9.10. Without these edits, bitbake build-basic-image will fail at various points.
