After accidentally connecting a serial device up to ttyS1 backwards
(probably grounded tx or something) my verdex XL6P has bricked.
Well not wanting to totally give up on it without a fight I
disconnected the breakout-vx board and the netcf-vx board and kept
trying to get it to power up. One time by accident it actually did.
Wow I thought, and after some very scientific troubleshooting, I found
that if I touched the hirose 60 connector with my finger (bad I know)
then it powers up. Even seems to boot after a while I can ping it, but
it's not completely working because I can't ssh into it.
Also it get's wicked hot in the power supply region of the verdex
board. I don't recall it doing this before. Since nothing is visually
broken, and I couldn't find schematics for the motherboard, I started
checking all the parts with my meter.
Only 1 part seems odd. C12 (its right next to the 60pin conn) reads 4
ohms. I admit its a long shot and its very possible this is a normal
If someone with a working board can verify this is the wrong value
then I'll try to replace the part.
I know its probably hopeless, but its worth $160 to at least try :)
