According to the wiki at http://wiki.gumstix.org/index.php?title=Change_boot_logo the startup image can be changed by "implementing [a] patch". Does anyone know how to "implement" this patch? I have tried this: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- diff -a -c logo_linux_clut224.ppm mynewlogo.ppm > gumstix-fb-logo.patch ----------------------------------------------------------------------- this doesn't work. I have tried this: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- diff -a -u logo_linux_clut224.ppm mynewlogo.ppm > gumstix-fb-logo.patch ----------------------------------------------------------------------- But this also does not work. Error messages during bitbake indicate that the patch is incorrectly formatted. If anyone can explain how to create the patch, it would be greatly appreciated. Lance |

It sounds like your PPM is a binary. Using -a to treat as text won't help if it's still binary data. If you are going to the trouble of creating a patch anyway, go full route and create your own copy of the linux-omap3 recipe directory in your user.collection. Then you can just replace the ppm directly without any side-effects. If you must go the way of a patch, open the image up in Gimp, then save it as a new PPM; it will ask you if you want it in a Raw format, or Ascii. You'll want the latter. --Pat |
