I have built an gumstix-x11-32mb-image with addition of jamvm and classpath.
I wrote a simple helloworld program using system.out.println("helloworld"), compiled and copied to the gumstix SD rootfs.
java HelloWorld works fine and prints as it should.
The I wrote a really simple program using AWT and did the same procedure, same compiler, etc. In this case I get following error message:
po@...:~/proto$ java ShowMe
java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems:
f.sh cannot be resolved or is not a field
Syntax error, insert "AssignmentOperator Expression" to complete Assignment
Syntax error, insert ";" to complete Statement
The method ow() is undefined for the type ShowMe
this is what I get when running java -version
po@...:~/proto$ java -version
java version "1.5.0"
JamVM version 1.5.0

Compiled with: gcc 4.1.2

Googling doesn't turn up much that I can make sense of.
Any hint highly appreciated!
