=20 When it first happened I suspected the fuse settings might not be right so I tried resetting. I thought I saw the flashing work correctly a time or two but then it wasn't repeatable so I don't know what to make of that. The last bunch of times the led came on and I got a little junk over serial (previously I hadn't started looking until after uploading the program), but then nothing again. I was using a little servo I found around the lab that doesn't look too hefty, but I can't find much by way of specs (it's labeled E_sky ES070A). Just to see what would happen I modified the code to start with the blue LED. The first time I loaded it, the blue LED came on, then it went to the yellow, then back to blue and there it stayed. What came back via serial was a garbled assortment of the messages you would expect. Here is some of it: *** Out`ut writth-Lto prRT1 *** ***** ***** **ut wFiashn to program ***** B ff f5 e5 cb b2 a4 99 92 C: 377 contd: 'c' Y***** T**** Fiash-Lto program ***** B ** r02x a key02x conad: '?' r02x a key02x co**** ***** Flash-LED prRTr m ... The second time I tried it, red flashed twice and then a lot of junk (mainly asterisks) came back. Subsequently, I see no signs of life. So I suppose it's confirmed dead now unless someone has some amazing trick I could use. :( -----Original Message----- From: gum...@li... [mailto:gum...@li...] On Behalf Of gum...@li... Any way to confirm or > fix? The fact that the red LED comes on at all is a good sign. This tyipcally means that some code is actually running. I'd double check the fuse settings, as this impacts the speed that the processor runs at, and hence how long the red LED stays on, as well as baud rates. It's also possible that something blew if you were using a large servo or it had a load. I've run single low end servos without using a separate VMotor supply with no issues. --=20 Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

Based on some info in another post, http://www.nabble.com/Is-my-robostix-fried--tf3989988.html#a11331653, I thought I'd see if this was an issue with the crystal by changing the fuses to use the 8MHz internal oscillator. Does anyone know what the fuse settings should be to do this? (Or how I go about figuring out what they should be.) Thanks. It seems that the clock is wonky. --=20 Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

Eugene, I have been working on interfacing a small low-cost serial camera to the GumStix and it works quite well except that I would like something faster than 5fps. The camera is the C328 from COMEDIA and can be found at electronics123 online. I have been doing some additional research and found a company that has successfully interfaced the OV9653 1.3megapixel camera from OmniVision to the PXA270, so I know it will work with the GumStix. Unfortunately they are primarily targeting windows ce. I have corresponded with a sales rep and they do have some api library for linux, but you have to pay for this. I am considering the purchase of their camera module and API, just so that I can get up and working with this nice hi-res camera, but I need a breakout board for the quick-capture signals on the GumStix, along with the sccb pins because I believe these are used for the camera as well. I am definitely interested in your breakout board because I could really use one of those to try and get started working with the OV9653 camera. An evaluation board can be purchased from OmniVision for the OV9653, but I have not received any pricing to date. I am new to linux, but have done work PIC microcontrollers. -Regards, Abe << Hello Dave, I am also working on getting a QuickCapture interface setup. I think it's designed to talk to a CMOS sensor or a CCD front end chip. Most sensors from Micron seem to be compatible. I designed a board that breaks out those pins to a standard header. Unfortunately, we don't have any software yet, since we just started. If you are serious about this interface, perhaps we can collaborate.
