I am completely new to Gumstix and am currently trying to get a custom
build environment set up. I hit a road-block today following the Yocto
build README ( https://github.com/gumstix/Gumstix-YoctoProject-Repo ) and
the Overo qemu script (
http://wiki.gumstix.org/index.php?title=Overo_qemu_script ). I am hoping
to get a build set up and working before the initial hardware investment.
I noticed, after following all the steps, that QEMU fails to run the image
generated from the script with an error "spl: error reading image
u-boot.img, err - -1". After a few more failed attempts, I noticed that
the wiki page for the qemu script explicitly copies the u-boot.img as
u-boot.bin. If I change the line in the script, everything seems to work
fine, and qemu runs the image fine.
Is this a typo, or is this an issue with my environment that will affect
using the generated files on actual hardware?
