Hi Gumstix users
I would like to get help in getting started with Stagecoach!
I have a Stagecoach populated with a Tide COM onto one
of its slots. And I have a Tide on Tobi. So on the Linux root
file system image that is on ext3 partition of MicroSD card,
I edited /etc/networks/interface to have an alias of eth0 with
a static IP, so eth0:0 has static IP 192.168.1.100. So on my
laptop I have aliased my eth0 too so that it has 192.168.1.7.
Laptop, Stagecoach and Tobi all connected to an Ethernet
So when I used that MicroSD card into Tide (on Tobi), I can
ping from 192.168.1.7, I could ssh into the Tide COM from
laptop (both are running Ubuntu). But when I took out the
same MicroSD card from the Tide COM from TOBI and put
into the Tide COM plugged into Stagecoach. I can no longer
ping from my laptop to the Tide COM on Stagecoach. I have
swapped network cables, slots but I still cannot ping from
laptop (192.168.1.7) to Tide on Stagecoach (192.168.1.100)
Apart from the slot I have plugged in my Tide, the other Red
and Yellow LEDs blinking om Stagecoach. I assume it is OK.
Is my Stagecoach defective? Am I missing something? FYI,
I cannot minicom into COM on Stagecoach as the image I am
using stops showing on my terminal when the kernel loads.
I will appreciate to hear your experiences and opinions. Any
help and hints will be appreciated. Thanks!
