I'm (still) trying to get a bootable MMC card installation going. I'm
99% done, with only the last step remaining: installing the rootfs
onto the 2nd partition of the card. Of course, with my luck, that's
where I'm stuck. mkfs.ext2 doesn't see the /dev/mmcblk0p2 device
partition, even though I created it in fdisk.
Here's the log:
$ fdisk /dev/mmcblk0
Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 1018 MB, 1018691584 bytes
30 heads, 29 sectors/track, 2286 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 870 * 512 = 445440 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/mmcblk0p1 1 91 39570+ 6 FAT16
/dev/mmcblk0p2 92 2286 954825 83 Linux
$ mkfs.vfat /dev/mmcblk0p1
mkfs.vfat 2.11 (12 Mar 2005)
$ mkfs.ext2 /dev/mmcblk0p2
mke2fs 1.38 (30-Jun-2005)
Could not stat /dev/mmcblk0p2 --- No such file or directory
Any ideas on how to get this working?
