Has anyone implemented a splash screen in uboot that works with the chestnut display? We're using psplash-angstrom (and psplash-zap), but that takes quite a while after booting before it appears. Thanks, chris |

Any pointer on how one would go about trying to do that ? -- View this message in context: http://gumstix.8.x6.nabble.com/splash-screen-from-uboot-tp663781p4968699.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

> Any pointer on how one would go about trying to do that ? For an LCD display (or indeed any other type of display) it would involve writing code to drive the display that runs under u-boot. It's been done before alright: http://boundarydevices.com/u-boot-display-support-for-i-mx6/ http://boundarydevices.com/displaying-a-splash-screen-with-u-boot/ might be a good place to start... |

If you are building on Yocto, you can also configure splash screen from the kernel recipe. For example, on duovero, https://github.com/gumstix/meta-gumstix/blob/dylan/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-gumstix_3.6.bb .
