Has anyone managed to get the g_serial gadget to work in a reconfigurable manner, and where its used as a login terminal?
I don't have any issues getting it to work initially by added the following line to inittab and then loading the module.
S1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 ttyGS0
But, if I do that I get these errors in the console log --> "INIT: Id "S1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minute", and I also can't unload the module. If I don't use inittab and if I just run getty as a background job then I get some timeout issue, and I can't login.
I have been successful getting the following modules working to some degree
gadgetfs with ptp -> with this one I couldn't view the 9th file on the ptp share. It didn't matter how many times I tried it, it just didn't like the 9th file.
gadget ethernet -> only tested this with SSL, and it seems to work great.
I'm getting to the point with g_serial of just nixing it, and on some future rev of the board I'll add some USB mux to the OTG port (to mux the Serial over USB and the OTG port). That way I'll have a no configuration required basic console port to either login or for console messages.
