So I have the verdex-xm4 with robostix (with headers) and netwifimicroSD. Both wifi and ethernet seem to working well. I now need to add USB and RS232 interfaces to connect various peripheral devices. I've heard about the 24-pin flat-flex option with the verdex but this seems to be a very tight fit with the robostix installed. I also plan on building a custom enclosure which would make interfacing with this connector even more complicated. Has anyone successfully connected a 24-pin flex-cable to the verdex with the robostix installed?
Alternatively, I am considering building a board similar to the tweener to provide USB and RS232 interfaces. The board would essentially place the USB/DB9 or miniDIN connectors on the opposite end of the RJ45 ethernet port. Has anyone ever done this? I am not an electrical engineer so this stuff could take a while to figure out. I just want the quickest solution possible.
Any thoughts, ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
