I have a Connex 400xm-bt/netMMC/serial console. I am trying to bring up the Bluetooth on this board. I am getting the: Starting Bluetooth subsystem: Trying baud rate 921600. Got response after reset. gobbling No response from BT module Can't initialize device: Success I have updated U-Boot to 1.2.0 and rebuilt the current OE release. I have been through nabble but can't seem to isolate the solution for the connex400xm-bt. Suggestions? Michael A. Nixon |

Hi Michael, I had the same problem (BT fails to inizialise) while using the old "buildroot" build system. Apparently recent releases of the BT driver (and/or their initialisation scripts) did not correctly initialize the older BT chips of older Gumstix. However, in the last few days now I moved to OpenEmbedded release 309, checked out from the svn repository, which I built and flashed on all the three Gumstix Connex 400xm-BT boards I have. With OE revision 309 BT works perfectly. FYI on top of my BT chip I can (barely) read: ---------------- INFINEON PRA (or BTA) 31308 VL 01 G 440 /D SN701001 FC ID Q23 21308 ---------------- Other ppl on the mailing list may be able to confirm if BT works also on pre-309 OE versions, of which you can find pre-build binaries here: http://www.gumstix.net/Software/view/Getting-started/Working-with-pre-built-images/111.html http://gumstix.net/feeds/ Hope it helps Sergio Michael A. Thanks for the help Sergio I have installed OE309 on my Gentoo build machine - Built the gumstix basic image and flashed to the Connex 400xm-BT board. No change in operation. I, then, downloaded the prebuilt image for the Connex basic image (glibc) and kernel (uImage file) and flashed them - No change. I did a stop of the Bluetooth subsystem and then a warm re-start. Trying baud rate 921600... Got response after reset... gobbling No response from BT module Seems the same. I have the Infineon chip. Michael -----Original Message----- From: gum...@li... Then your BT chip may be broken / fried.. Try the same sw on a different board (I bought 3 gumstix for this reason: rule out hw issues) good luck Sergio On Sat, Apr 19, 2008 at 3:25 PM, Michael A. Unfortunately this is my only Bluetooth 'stix. My verdex is bricked and my other connect does not have Bluetooth capability. Steve, Does this sound right? I am getting a response from the module but it fails to communicate after a reset. I have found some referenced to the GPIO lines being set right but it appeared that this was all fixed in a later version of OE. Without any schematics, I can't really diagnose the situation any further... Mike -----Original Message----- From: gum...@li... As far as I know, the most recent revision should work with both old and new modules. If a pre-built image doesn't work (and by the way there are images for basix now, too) then you likely have bad hw. Steve On Sun, Apr 20, 2008 at 9:49 PM, Michael A.
