I want to add a kernel module at boot up. I looked at /etc/modules.conf and
it says not to use this file but to add a file to /etc/modutils according to
the man page for update-modules. I have tried adding a file with various
information in it, and nothing seems to happen on boot or when I manually
run update-modules and I can tell my module is not loaded.
in the modutils file i tried simply just the name of the kernel-module.ko
i also tried this in the file
install myKernelModule /sbin/modprobe myKernelModule
Are either of these files supposed to work? Is there a trick to getting it
to work? Is this the prescribed way of loading a kernel module on boot in
linux 2.6.31 or for the gumstix overo?
