I am trying to boot the core-image-sato pkg on an Overo fire / Chestnut43. I built the package with: bitbake core-image-sato I deployed to sd card with: cp tmp/deploy/{MLO,uImage,u-boot.img} /media/boot tar xaf tmp/deploy/images/core-image-sato-overo.tar.bz2 -C /media/rootfs sync umount /media/{boot, rootfs} I reset the NAND and set defualtdisplay to 'lcd43'. The board successfully bootstraps from the mmc device, but soon kernel panics, see logs below. Note this is the same behavior documented here http://sourceforge.net/p/gumstix/mailman/message/31208732/, including the part where the image boots without error when defaultdevice=dvi. But of course this means there is no image on the lcd screen, and I did not see a resolution for this in that thread. Also note that core-image-x11 also boots without error and displays a minimal X11 display on the lcd screen.
