Dear all, I'm switching my preferred kernel to using linux-omap_2.6.39 and need help to enable all the peripherals for use with Chestnut43. This is to try running the MT9V032 MC-aware camera driver upstream. I tried using 'bitbake -c menuconfig virtual/kernel' to generate a new .config but I couldn't get the Host-A USB and OTG ports to work. The Host-A USB cannot recognize any USB devices and the OTG ports also cannot recognize a powered USB hub. I'm not sure if other peripherals are working too.. e.g. bluetooth, wifi, etc.. I keep getting this message on the console port too. "omap_device: omap2_mcspi.1: new worst case deactivate latency 0: 7720947" I'm attaching my defconfig that is generated for your reference and advice. http://old.nabble.com/file/p32370383/defconfig defconfig Thank you in adv. ""omap_device: omap2_mcspi.1: new worst case deactivate latency 0: 7720947" Which parameter in the defconfig should I change to 'silent' this? On the USB side, I copied the whole of do_configure_prepend() from the linux-omap3 recipe to the linux-omap_2.6.39.bb but still no luck detecting USB mouse, keyboard or thumbdrives on the Host-A port. The OTG port also couldn't detect a powered USB hub like it used to.. Can someone help me with this?? Thanks in adv. If the USB mouse is connected to the Host-A port without the hub causing "Unable to emulate device" error, the same port can no longer detect any other device (such as USB hub) without a reboot.. And, that a powered hub must be attached to the OTG port BEFORE powering on the unit. Else, the COM can't detect the USB hub too. i.e. The OTG port can't support hotplug?!? puzzling.. My bad that I didn't search deep enough into the forum archives.. (Tried on Gumstix's 2.6.39 kernel, Steve's kernel and this topic kernel) On the MT9V032 camera driver portion, it's working fine but lack a suitable application that is MC-aware and able to do streaming. Any suggestion? Have a great day~! Cheers! I assume it's not what you want, but maybe if you compile the USB subsystem as modules you can rmmod and modprobe again so it detects the mouse and hub without rebooting? just an idea regarding the caspa camera, could you help me get a 2.6.39 with caspa support?!! please?! I can build a 2.6.39 all right, using the openembed framework. What now? (I've tried to build the mt9v032 module already, but failed) thanks a lot! The kernel.org is down and will have to wait till everything is back up. Inside this kernel, there is Laurent's patch to add a entire new MT9V032 driver. Since there is no defconfig file for Overo, I just copy Beagleboard and do a manual configuration by following http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/UserGuideOmap35xCaptureDriver_PSP_04.02.00.07 Omap35xCaptureDriverPSP-04.02.00.07 's configuration steps. I also intend to apply my steps to Steve's new 3.0 kernel and see if will work too. ATM, I'm consolidating all my test steps and will revert back later separately on a new thread. Like I mentioned above, I can't find a suitable V4L2 application that is MC-aware and does continuous streaming mode. "gst-launch v4l2src ! xvimagesink" no longer works. Maybe you will have better luck obtaining one..
