Hi, I want to make an array of different coloured LEDs that light up
when I get a new email, a video is finished encoding, etc.
Then I want to put the whole thing in a nice little case and mount it
on my wall.
I was inspired by this x-box controller mod:
Would this be a good model to follow? Just connect some LEDs instead
Is there a cheaper alternative to the Basic Stamp? Or some way to
cut it out altogether?
Thanks for any advice.

The cheaper alternative is called robostix, and it's available from
If all you're doing is lighting LEDs though, you can do that even
cheaper with a breakout-gs board or audiostix2 (the latter would
allow audio in/out too).
