I'm seeing some random lockups on boot when using the PowerVR SGX graphics
driver on the Overo Water. Sometimes just the application locks up as soon as
it starts, sometimes the whole system locks up hard, and sometimes the app
triggers a kernel oops in the pvrsrvkm module. Once the app is running, it
never has a problem. I haven't found similar problems when I search the web
for this, so I'm wondering if something is configured wrong or if it's the
driver. My only solution right now is a hardware watchdog. I'm using a
2.6.32 kernel and the 3.00.00.09 driver.
If I run something like
while gles1test1; do /etc/init.d/pvr-init restart; done
it will hang sooner or later. If it hangs, sometimes I can hit Control-C, do
a pvr-init restart, and continue running the loop.
This occurs on my own build and on the pre-built gumstix 201001160719 image,
although I haven't had the gumstix image fail on the first try yet.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?
