Its not really a gumstix, but use a robostix. It will consume a fraction
of the power that any gumstix does as its only a 16mhz processor
(underclockable to much less), there's no operating system to get in the
way, virtually no boot up time etc.
If absolutely must use a gumstix then use a basix 200 if you can get one.
At best you are only going to get a runtime of a few hours, whereas a
microcontroller based system can probably manage days. If low power is
your main requirement don't use a gumstix!
