Just getting started playing around with my shiny new Verdex +
netmicroSD + consoleLCD + Samsung LCD combo. My goal is to move a
Qt/Qtopia application to the system.
When building applications, is buildroot or OE the suggested path for a
toolchain and base system setup?
I managed to get a working Qtopia environment on the device (built with
the buildroot toolchain) with minimal hassle, except for a GCC ICE when
compiling it with the iwmmx extensions (so, in short, don't do that ;)).
Everything except the touchscreen comes up fine in the base system.
I grabbed the TSC2003 driver from
http://www.cs.umd.edu/~nchen/gumstix/tsc2003.c and compiled it against
the buildroot kernel. I also added the jumper wire as shown in
http://www.sakoman.net/oe/B10003.rew.png. I'm still getting the I2C
timeout errors though. Granted my jumper wire could have popped off, but
I think I'm still having the problem. :(
Is it possible to use just the toolchain from the OE system for building
custom applications? Or would I have to move applications into the
bitbake build framework (though this would not be a bad idea).
On another note, I'm getting a failed checksum for tslib in gumstix-oe ...
