I have been looking over some tech docs for the infineon and it seems
that voice-quality audio (SCO) is permanently mapped to the PCM i/o on
the chip. That would rule out making audio connections to a cellphone or
to a voice-quality headset.
There's still the possibility of sending/receiving stereo audio since
this doesn't use the SCO channel.
One thing I was thinking we could do is use a gumstix to make a wireless
device that can send and receive high-quality audio simultaneously. It
would be the only device of its kind and would make a gaming kind of
headset (receiving stereo sound, transmitting voice back) possible.
