I've been using the gumstix connex for the past two weeks with no
problems, but today I noticed that I can't get console over ttyS0 and I
am not able to ssh/see its webserver (which I can usually see since I
have a startup script to enable usbnet for a certain IP).
Anyways, I noticed that when i have my gumstix plugged into it's power
source (via a waysmall basix board), there is a small chip on the
gumstix connex, below an unsoldered ball grid array, that gets absurdly
hot (it burns my finger). Is it possible that this chip is the problem?
The chip is labeled with the Analog devices logo, and letters "L FE".
Does anyone know what this chip is for/why it might be burning?
In five minutes, I'll post a picture of the chip in question at
As far as my usage with the gumstix, I may have left it on for over a
day, and have been using it with a wireless CF card via the cfstix
expansion module. Would this have caused any problems?
