I just tried to hook up a gpsstix a few different ways and now its
overheating tremendously-- even if I just plug it into a wall wart and
make no external connections.
i was connecting it via its stuart port to a robostix' uart port,
(swapping rx and tx) and that was the first thing that made it
overheat. i unplugged it, and tried it with the wall wart, and it
still overheated. i went through the stuart port connections and found
that VCC and GND short, but so do every VCC and GND on the board...
interestingly, if i have my robostix plugged in to my avrisp but not
powered and then i use a multimeter to look for a short between vcc
and gnd, the avrisp recognizes the board when i make the connection.
anyone know whats going on and if i fried this gps board?
