Hello, I have an Overo Fire running Ubuntu 9.04, 2.6.34 kernel. I have both the Tobi and Summit expansion boards, and I have tested each board with a coin cell battery installed in the board's coin-cell holder. Neither board will maintain the system clock state across a power cycle. Is there a way to enable this functionality? Thanks! -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Expansion-Board-Battery%2C-Overo-Clock-Function-tp32388486p32388486.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Yes, sort of. Apparently the Ubuntu I installed does not enable the RTC hardware on the board when it boots, so the battery functions don't work as they should. I replaced Ubuntu with one of Steve Sakoman's images, http://www.sakoman.com/category/8-gnome-daily-builds-r13.html here , and the clock now does what its supposed to, even across a power cycle. So, the "sort of" part of this solution is that I have the clock working now, just not in Ubuntu. I'm pretty new to all this stuff, and there might be ways to fix the Ubuntu image to enable the clock, but I wouldn't know where to begin such an undertaking. Hope this helps a bit.
