Can anyone help? I am trying to recompile the kernel on my verdex pro system. (Applied a patch) However when I come to build with: bitbake -c rebuild gumstix-kernel the sumversion.c file gets refreshed, it then refuses to compile since #include <limits.h> isn't present. I'm applying a patch to give adc funstionality in the ucb1400 on the gpsstix. (The shipped driver is not fully working) Any ideas? After you've made the sumversion changes, I think you need to just do bitbake gumstix-kernel rather than -c rebuild There's some information here also, but not 100% how useful it will be to you http://www.gumstix.net/wiki/index.php?title=Kernel_Reconfiguration Mike On 19 August 2010 21:00, Neil Cobbett <nc...@ba...> wrote: > > Can anyone help? > > I am trying to recompile the kernel on my verdex pro system. Hi Mike, I tried as you suggest but then my patch isnt implemented. I think I need to clean/refresh before baking. For sure if I 'bitbake -c rebuild' then all my settings are lost for the known problem with sumversion.c - #include <limits.h> problem. It wont compile past a certain point. If I don't '-c rebuild' then my new patch settings set in 'com.gumstix.collection/packages/linux/gumstix-kernel-2.6.21/' are not implemented and it keeps the old settings (the original patch) for the bitbake. I need a way forward but have spent days going in circles. Hi Katsu, That fixes the sumversion.c error however when you 'bitbake -c rebuild <recipe>' it trumps you and loads the default even though you have edited the file. My problem is adding a patch - it neds a refresh of part of the build where my patch file is - AC97_patch.c but it then wont compule because sumversion.c goes back to default! I'm stuck! Neil quote author="katsu.box"> Hi. I had same error in the old day. you have already solution. open the "sumversion.c" and add header file #include <linux/limits.h> or #include <limutes.h> or both all. in my case, that is solution.
