I was wondering if anyone could help me with setting up gpsd for a new
verdex kernel. Setup should look like the overo I think. I have a
Garmin18x on /dev/ttyS1. cat /dev/ttyS1 produces the desired NMEA streams.
root@...:~# gpsd -n /dev/ttyS1
root@...:~# gpspipe -r
-sh: gpspipe: not found
and when I check the installation of gpsd:
root@...:~# opkg install gpsd
Package gpsd (2.90-r4.0.5) installed in root is up to date.
//usr/lib/opkg/info/hicolor-icon-theme.postinst: line 7: can't create
/etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders: nonexistent directory
//usr/lib/opkg/info/hicolor-icon-theme.postinst: line 7:
gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders: not found
//usr/lib/opkg/info/hicolor-icon-theme.postinst: line 13:
gtk-update-icon-cache: not found
* pkg_run_script: postinst script returned status 127.
* opkg_configure: hicolor-icon-theme.postinst returned 127.
gpsd seems to install fine-the hi-color errors seem to be common and
I need gpsd to begin on bootup of the gumstix (Im using .31 booting off of a
micro-sd) but I get the following in the boot up sequence:
Starting GPS (Global Positioning System) daemon gpsd
gpsd: can't run with neither control socket nor devices
Starting gpspipe/etc/rc5.d/S99zend: line 49: gpspipe: not found
my /etc/default/gpsd.default looks like:
# If you must specify a non-NMEA driver, uncomment and modify the next line
Im not sure what else to change in the configuration or how I'm setting
things up. Any suggestions as to what Im missing?
Thanks in advance!
