I am new to Gumstix and have a few issues getting the USB Host port to work.
I am trying to connect a third party USB GPS to the Tobi expansion board.
I have tried the following:
1) Connecting an external hub to the USB OTG port via a mini-B to mini-A
cable and then connecting the GPS to the hub works fine.
2) Connecting an external hub to the USB Host port via a standard USB cable
and then connecting the GPS to the hub works fine.
‘lsmod’ says that the pl2303 and usbserial modules are loaded and the GPS
works fine in both cases described above.
However, connecting the GPS directly to the USB Host port doesn’t seem to
work. Also, connecting a mass storage device (USB stick) to the USB Host
port doesn’t work either. However, connecting the USB stick to the hub in
(1) and (2) above works fine.
Do I need to enable USB Host or am I missing something else?
Any help would be most appreciated.
