Back in October 2009 (2.6.30 kernel) I was able to configure the HCIATTACH_SPEED to 1500000 and successfully run Bluetooth on the overo. I could set up the overo as a BT NAP and successfully sftp an 11M file with no issues. Today when I build the omap3-console-image and bump the speed up, I am having issues when I attempt the same file transfer. I am able to connect and the sftp starts transferring the file, but after about a third or half the file is transferred I start getting the following messages: h4_recv: Unknown HCI packet type 77 h4_recv: Unknown HCI packet type 4c and more of the same... Sometimes this doesn't cause issues with the NAP connection, but other times it does. I believe the messages indicate that the H4 stream somehow got out of sync. So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas what has changed? I still have the old kernel/rootfs from October and I have success with them, but when I load the latest kernel and rootfs I have these issues. If someone knows how to use git to get the version of the repository back in October 2009 so that I can compare the kernel, the bluez package, etc. to today's versions maybe that would help me. Reading on the web some who have had this issue have turned on flow control (pass this as a parameter to hciattach). I tried this and I am still seeing the same issue (no effect). I'm not sure if the wi2wi/BTUART from a hardware standpoint even supports flow control? Anyway if anyone has any ideas let me know. Can anyone from gumstix share what are the hardware connections/signals from the wi2wi uart interface used for Bluetooth to the UART (assuming 16654) on the board? Is it possible to get information (pointer to the datasheet) for the 16654 that is used on the overo? It is difficult to debug when you do not know the hardware interface between the components and specifications. Are there any gpios that can be used to turn on flow control like on other gumstix? The only gpios I can see related to Bluetooth are the BT_NRESET (gpio164) and BT_XGATE (gpio 15). Don, Great!!! I am glad to hear Gumstix is going to provide some more documentation that describes details such as this. When this becomes available it will be a very useful resource for developers. However could you answer my question about hardware flow control on UART2 being used for Bluetooth. I did some more digging and I see in the u-boot overo.h which details how the GPIOs are mux'ed that GPIOs 140-143 are set up for UART2 as follows: UART2_CTS UART2_RTS UART2_TX UART2_RX Are all these signals connected and how are they connected? In particular are the CTS and RTS connected which would provide hardware flow control? Is there anything special which needs to be done to turn on hardware flow control if it is available? As I said previously, I had changed the hciattach parameters to use flow instead of noflow and saw no difference. So I guess what I am trying to understand is what are the wi2wi BT signals and how are they mapped back to the processor UART2 interface? Is a 16654 between the wi2wi BT and the processor signals. One more note on this is the board I have with the old load with the working Bluetooth at the higher data rate is an "older" overo-air where the silicon version of the processor is ES2.1. The newer boards have ES3.1.
