What it allows is overlaying a writable partition with a read only partition or vice versa. In Slax it is used with the iso9660 filesystem and a ram drive so that file modification is stored in ram and completely volatile. |

Does anyone know pro/con on posixovl vs unionfs? C |

yeah I posted my oops I mis spoke I haven't seen anything about unionfs so I just wanted to mention it. It is very useful posixovl is to allow posix rules rwxrwxrwx on top of file systems that do not support it.
