I'm trying to install the GCC on the Gumstix, but it needs a prior version of itself to compile it. Currently GCC is not installed on the Gumstix. How do I get the installation process started? thank you -Shane -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Installing-GCC-in-Overo-tp25265937p25265937.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Did you figure out which package needs to be added in order to have a fully functional gcc on the overo? I'm running into dependency problems when including gcc-native in the image and then bitbaking it :-/ Any ideas? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Installing-GCC-in-Overo-tp25265937p25738665.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, I think that you want to install task-sdk-native, though I haven't tested it myself (yet). Hum, actually I think it was renamed lately, so try 'task-native-sdk' too. Hi Thierry, that sounds good :-) I just compiled it, but I wasn't able to build the rootfs of the console image due to some dependency problems... I just deleted the 'tmp' dir, because this was the only solution that helped last time I got this error. Now I'm rebuilding everything, that takes quite a while :-P thanks, Rainer -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Installing-GCC-in-Overo-tp25265937p25756144.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

We had this problem a while ago. The only way we could think of to get around it was to get the gumstix online and use the opkg repository to install all of our packages. rvjr wrote: > > Hi Thierry, > > that sounds good :-) I just compiled it, but I wasn't able to build the > rootfs of the console image due to some dependency problems... Hi wanderer! Rebuilding everything helped to solve my dependency problems, but installing stuff via packages is also nice, because it's much faster! Thanks for the idea...
