Yes others have had this problem, no i don't have reference off hand. Description of whats going on: bitbake is downloading packages to build for your system. the checksum /hash(md5sum) of package is not matching some master checksum. so it fails. You may have corrupted malicious package if checksums don't match. Details of master list i am unsure of. I ran into this issue and am now using the work around below. It is not a fix, but it will make the symptoms go away. This is not a source control issue. It is a bitbake issue regarding how it handles package signing. quick sub optimal work around: put: OE_ALLOW_INSECURE_DOWNLOADS = "1" in ~/overo-oe/user.collection/conf/local.conf search http://www.nabble.com/Gumstix-f22543.html for references to user.collection if you don't have that set up. It looks like the patch is fetched from a server and they have changed the patch. We are working on a fix in OE atm. I am not a fan of fetching patches from projects that change them without some form of versioning :) Philip moorcroft wrote: > Yes others have had this problem, no i don't have reference off hand. > > Description of whats going on: bitbake is downloading packages to build for > your system. > the checksum /hash(md5sum) of package is not matching some master checksum. > so it fails. Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate the pointers you've given =) I noticed that busybox did not have any file versioning on http like other projects do earlier. I even went through the trouble of trying to find a busybox package with the same md5 as the one bitbake was looking for so I could mess with my dns entries and get it to build...couldn't find one. I'll give the allow insecure downloads var a shot, see if that finishes the build. I'm down to 3 packages failed now. Hopefully after this gets resolved I can configure the thing to throw output to my tiny little 480x234 screen =P Philip Balister wrote: > > It looks like the patch is fetched from a server and they have changed > the patch. RaX5987, Not sure if you ever resolved your problem, but I had an md5sum mismatch between the busybox-1.13.2-modprobe.patch downloaded as part of the build and the md5sum listed in org.openembedded.dev/conf/checksums.ini. I found a version of the patch file at "http://mirror.hamakor.org.il/pub/mirrors/gentoo-portage/sys-apps/busybox/fi les/?C=S;O=A" that had an md5sum that matched what checksums.ini was expecting. For what it's worth... I thought I'd mention it. Regards, Ryan -----Original Message----- From: RaX5987 [mailto:On...@gm...] Sent: Friday, March 13, 2009 7:02 PM To: gum...@li...
