the intersema parts are used in at least one flight
computer that I know if. Resolution is 1m - that is
more than enough for (our purpose) paragliding and
hanggliding. As for 1100mbar - I haven't seen anything
over 1035 here is Switzerland, and that's a pretty
whopping big high pressure system.
If you want to measure air speed, then that's another
nut to crack. We use either impeller devices or some
arrangement of pitot tubes. Most of the time we're
interested in speed over ground, so the GPS is more
