I am a first time poster on this list, so if you got this message multiple times, I appolgize for that. I have a netwifimicroSD-FCC hooked up to a Verdex XL6P. I am new to ethernet in general, so I am totally lost in trying to setup the wifi. I have searched online some, but not much has helped so far. I am trying to connect to an access point of which I know the ip,ssid, and wep key. How do I setup the gumstix and then how do I log into the other computer? I have run the command: iwlist mwlan0 scanning and the modem I want to connect to comes up, but I don't know what to do after that. I am a newbie so please be patient and start at the beginning if you are willing. Help would be extremely appreciated!!!!! -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Wifi-Setup-Help-tp19500318p19500318.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

I am assuming you are using oe. If you are, look in the file /etc/network/interfaces on your gumstix. There are instructions and examples on how to set up wifi using the different setups and encryptions. Also, you might want to search the list for the powermode setting that keeps your wifi module from getting uber hot.
