Hello, I need some help.
I am new to gumstix and linux in general.
I have built my developement envirenment. updated uboot, the rootfs, and
the linux image from the build I made. it all works. I have the the
ethernet port working and have created a helloworld package bitbaked it and
installed it. it works.
Now for the tough stuff. I need to start writing a driver. i dont know
where to put the driver. i dont know where the kernel source is so dont
know where to find <linux/module.h> and others. can someone get me through
the basics here. I have the "linux device drivers 3rd edition" and have
entered the first sample driver in the book and it fails on the include
files." i put it in place of my hello.c in my helloworld but this is
probably not the right place for it. i found sample drivers on gumstix but
they mention buildroot and i dont seem to have such a directory. Help!
Thanks in advance,
