I just started working on a project but am not sure what kind of parts would work best for me.
To sum up my project, I will be using RFID readers. All the tag information will be stored in a database. Then, I need to use some sort of synthesizer to 'translate' the content of the database to audio, and output it to speakers or headphones or..??
So, I need a motherboard (I've been looking at connexx), and some sort of extension board (I've been looking at the audio2stix and GPSstix add-ons.) I have never worked with any gumstix products and thus am unfamiliar with this tech territory.
Thus, I'd appreciate if anyone has any suggestions regarding components that could be useful for my project. Also, I am considering to use wi-fi in case I need to update the database, which I believe that there is a blue-tooth extension (I rather not work with blue-tooth because of range limitation).
Also, if anyone's ever worked with the GPS module, could you please let me know what kind of navigation it offers.
I've been reading some of the datasheets but nothing can be personal experience!
