I have managed to get gprof compiled for my verdex and it "seems" to run ok there, but i am having problems with my C code that I compiled using the "-pg" option for profiling.
I run my test executable and it generates the gmon.out file. But when I run the gprof on the gmon.out file along with the unstripped executable, its void of any timing information (time in seconds). I get the proper number of times each function was called, but no time info.
I ran the same original code on my desktop and it works fine with gprof there.
I copied the gmon.out file to my desktop machine along with the executable and ran gprof and I get the same results - again with no timing info. Thus I get the same results with the i386 version of gprof or the arm version for the gumstix.
Any clues what might be the problem? My guess is something is up with compiling using the "-pg" option.
p.s. for the Gumstix version of gprof - I did not use a bitbake recipe for compiling gprof, but wrote a simple script which calls the appropriate make files. If anyone wants that script, they are welcome to it. I believe it all works fine.
