Thankyou! The new modules seem to fix the problem with IPv6. I can now happily have IPv6 compiled into the kernel and still use the Wifi-stix. I still get an error when setting the essid when the wifi-stix is in managed mode. However, I have tested this with a CF wifi card and although it does not produce an error, it doesn't actually set the essid. I don't know if the is a bug, I suspect not. Anyway, the Oops. Here are the conditions: - Fresh buildroot (r1109)=20 - configured to defconfig - changed kernel's config to include the following: CONFIG_NETFILTER=3Dy CONFIG_NETFILTER_XTABLES=3Dm Then, after re-flashing the rootfs and booting: # iwconfig mwlan0 mode Ad-Hoc # iwconfig mwlan0 essid "test" # ifconfig mwlan0 192.168.1.123 # ping 192.168.1.1 PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000001 pgd =3D c0004000 [00000001] *pgd=3D00000000 Internal error: Oops: 17 [#1] Modules linked in: g_ether pxa2xx_udc gumstix_gadget mcf25 cfio pxa2xx_cs pxa2xx_core pcmcia pcmcia_core firmware_class unix CPU: 0 PC is at memcpy+0xe8/0x330 LR is at wlan_process_tx+0x104/0x260 [mcf25] pc : [<c00b45e8>] lr : [<bf02ad34>] Tainted: P sp : c02cbf18 ip : 00000002 fp : c02cbf64 r10: c3ffa000 r9 : 00000000 r8 : c02cbf28 r7 : c3ff28e0 r6 : c3800280 r5 : 00000018 r4 : 00000000 r3 : 00000000 r2 : 00000002 r1 : 00000001 r0 : c02cbf36 Flags: nZCv IRQs on FIQs on Mode SVC_32 Segment kernel Control: 397F Table: A3F34000 DAC: 00000017 Process wlan_main_servi (pid: 151, stack limit =3D 0xc02ca198) Stack: (0xc02cbf18 to 0xc02cc000) bf00: c02cbf36 00000000 bf20: bf02ad34 c00226d0 00000000 00000000 00000018 0000005a 00000000 00000000 bf40: 00001310 80000013 c3800280 c3800c50 c3800c54 c02cbf88 c02cbf7c c02cbf68 bf60: bf0237e4 bf02ac3c c3ffa000 000009b0 c02cbfc0 c02cbf80 bf023e40 bf023774 bf80: c00226b8 10800cf8 00000000 c3800cc0 c00231dc 00100100 00200200 c3800c50 bfa0: c02ca000 c3fd3b14 bf023a5c 00000001 fffffffc c02cbff4 c02cbfc4 c003aa40 bfc0: bf023a68 00000001 ffffffff ffffffff 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 bfe0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 c02cbff8 c0028e34 c003a950 20796857 71206f6e Backtrace: [<bf02ac30>] (wlan_process_tx+0x0/0x260 [mcf25]) from [<bf0237e4>] (wlan_process_txqueue+0x7c/0x94 [mcf25]) [<bf023768>] (wlan_process_txqueue+0x0/0x94 [mcf25]) from [<bf023e40>] (wlan_service_main_thread+0x3e4/0x430 [mcf25]) r5 =3D 000009B0 r4 =3D C3FFA000 [<bf023a5c>] (wlan_service_main_thread+0x0/0x430 [mcf25]) from [<c003aa40>] (kthread+0xfc/0x12c) [<c003a944>] (kthread+0x0/0x12c) from [<c0028e34>] (do_exit+0x0/0x7ac) Code: e8bd8011 e26cc004 e35c0002 c4d13001 (a4d14001) The system remains stable but doing anything with the network causes a hang (iwconfig, ifconfig, etc).
