Hi All, One more question, we were hoping to run a rechargeable RTC clock backup battery ( <http://corrosion-doctors.org/PrimBatt/li-vanad.htm> Lithium vanadium pentoxide) which is what is optionally done on the beagle board. We have wired a battery up to the VBACKUP line on the Overo to a lithium battery however we have found that it is not charging. Does anyone know how to get the TI 65950 to trickle charge the battery? I believe that this chip has the capability as it is the same one used on the beagle board, however there is a note on the gumstix website http://www.gumstix.net/Hardware/view/I/O-connectors-cabling/Gumstix-Overo- I/O-overview/112.html that says "7) The Overo series does not support battery charging." I am just trying to work out why this is and if there are any workarounds or mods we can do to enable the battery charging. ~paul |

I have seen and some where have stored some information about this from this forum. Poke around a bit more and when I get a chance I'll dig for the info on my computer and forward it to you if you have not found the threads your self already. As I recall, it should support charging. In the thread it is described a battery to use. I was going to try a Cap because in my use I just need a few minutes while power is lost or unplugged for it to retain the clock memory. Recent kernel builds have RTC backup battery trickle changing enabled. Do a git pull to pick up the change or use one of the most recent pre-built images. See the following patch for details of the implementation: http://www.sakoman.com/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=linux-omap-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=83d22678ac1d8126b41f6880f57e2421d0c11391 Steve > > > > ~paul > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > SOLARIS 10 is the OS for Data Centers - provides features such as DTrace, > Predictive Self Healing and Award Winning ZFS.
