I'm trying to avoid using a USB hub, due to space limitations and the fact that I only have one device to connect to the Summit board (A USB Bluetooth dongle). Can I not just connect it to the "Host" connector on the summit board. I assume the reason a hub was suggested, in getting started, is so that the user can connect several devices like mice and keyboards ?? Am I right ?? Thanks . Bill |

Maybe ;) I know you could with a WiFi dongle. > I > assume the reason a hub > > was suggested, in getting started, is so that the user can connect > several devices like mice and keyboards ?? > > Am I right ?? Mice/keyboards are usually USB 1.x devices, the host and OTG ports only support USB 2 devices. So make sure your BT dongle is USB 2.0, or you will need a hub to translate. Another thing to watch out for is that the OTG port may not be hot pluggable, unless that has been patched in the latest releases. A hub also eliminates this problem.
