Hi Craig, I am quite desesparate after quite few days building my JTAG interface, I finally got it working. But it seems that it is only the beginning of problems, indeed, I am now struggling with u-boot loading. If I take the .bin you did post and convert to srec, I get an error while loading it with the OCD commander. (by the way, is there anything 200MHz specific in the script which would make it fail for 400MHz board?) If I build my own u-boot-1.1.1 from buildroot while patching the cpu speed, I can load the generated srec but it seems that it contains some bad instruction and nothing is happening, I am getting an error if I am stepping, perhaps my u-boot build is not ok. I must say that I am struggling with the $µ^ù$&é"!!&! push connector of the original gumstix, thus, I never know how good are the connections. Could you help me by providing me the .srec for u-boot.1.1.1 for original gumstix 400MHz? Or even better, a single image containing an application directly flashing u-boot.1.1.1 on the flash, thus avoiding further problems. Rgds, Frédéric |

So I built a breakout board for the connecto= r that gave me standard 2mm spacing pin headers that I connect with ribbon = cable. Makes life easier during the concept prototyping. I'll mail you an image separately. Indeed, you don't want to be fighting two problems at the sam= e time. - Kim |

I would like very much to solve the general problem of making it easier to prototype with the gumstix boards. I have had several requests for, variously-- a multiple-header board (i.e. several headers tied to the different ports at logic levels) a prototyping area (i.e. 60-pin connector with a breakout area in 0.100" format) a video or LCD recommendation or reference design, a JTAG connector --- and so on. I also had planned on making -- 1) an N-pin DIP daughtercard (N=40 or 60) for the gumstix that would let the gumstix fit into a protoboard, 2) a JTAG connector based on the ezUSB from Cypress, 3) a 3xAAA battery power pack. I want to get going on this ASAP, and I'd love to hear from the mailing list about features you think need to be on a set of break-out boards. Form-factor is also important; i.e. how big a prototyping area? Thanks in advance, Gordon |

If you make a break out board for the 1st type of stix and then for the second type. It may be useful to make the break out for stix type II have a route part of the pins that correspond to stix type I to it's own pin header. So that someone that is designing for type I can type a type II board and still get the type I board pin outs easily :) i.e. a type I pin header and an "all the rest" pin header, which could also duplicate some of the original pins. In other words a breakout board that is good for guys with both types of stix. Hello Frédéric, I also had trouble getting my jtag setup to work using the OCD macro from the wiki, and an srec I generated from the .bin file off of sourceforge. But then I got a copy of the srec for uboot and a new OCD macro and it seems to work now. Craig or Gordon, is there somewhere you guys could put those files up for people?
