Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2008 12:18 AM Subject: [Gumstix-users] Buildroot compiling Hi everyone, I'm trying to compile buildroot for my gumstix and having some problems. First, i check my gumstix build release, which says 1086. So i do svn co -r1086 ... to download de buildroot files. Then i run: 'make defconfig', 'make menuconfig' (to add gpsd and ncurses packages) and finally 'make'. After a lot of downloading and compiling, i get an error: make[4]: se ingresa al directorio `/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_ nofpu/binutils-2.17-build/bfd' make[4]: No se hace nada para `info-am'. make[4]: se sale del directorio `/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_no fpu/binutils-2.17-build/bfd' make[3]: *** [info-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: se sale del directorio `/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_no fpu/binutils-2.17-build/bfd' make[2]: *** [all-bfd] Error 2 make[2]: se sale del directorio `/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_no fpu/binutils-2.17-build' make[1]: *** [all] Error 2 make[1]: se sale del directorio `/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_no fpu/binutils-2.17-build' make: *** [/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.17-buil d/binutils/objdump] Error 2 Needless to say, i have no clue what the error may be. Previously it throws another error but continues: WARNING: `makeinfo' is missing on your system. You should only need it if you modified a `.texi' or `.texinfo' file, or any other file indirectly affecting the aspect of the manual. The spurious call might also be the consequence of using a buggy `make' (AIX, DU, IRIX). You might want to install the `Texinfo' package or the `GNU make' package. Grab either from any GNU archive site. mv: no se puede mover «.am9699/bfd.info» a «.//home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain _build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.17/bfd/doc/»: No existe el fichero ó directorio make[4]: *** [/home/pablo/gumstix/gumstix-buildroot/toolchain_build_arm_nofpu/binutils-2.17/b fd/doc/bfd.info] Error 1 Here it seems clear to me that the error is on searching for directory .//home/pablo..., but don't know how to fix it. For those who have problems with your spanish: "no se puede mover" means "can't be moved" and "no existe el fichero o directorio" means "no such file or directory", and "se sale del directorio" means "exits directory". Previously I could, with some problems, compile the latest buildroot (1686) but I'm not sure whether it is compatible with my Gumstix or how to make it so. (I erased this buildroot in order to compile the older one). Thanks in advance. Pablo P.S: Special thanks to those who answered my last inqury about subversion repository login. It seems I have to read more thoroughly the instructions on the wiki next time! -- Pablo A. Hola Pablo, Lo estas haciendo en ubuntu o usas otra distribucion (Fedora, Debian etch, etc)? Saludos, Sir Graham. ----- Original Message ----- From: Pablo Iturralde To: gumstix-users@... -- Pablo A.
