Good information here.  I've been just creating the scripts and symlinks directly inside a running Gumstix.  It works, but of course the scripts aren't part of the actual bitbake recipe for the image.  However, when I want to copy the image to another SD card, I've just been using 'dd' instead from my dev system.

Seems the recipe approach may be better.

The section in the manual on initscripts is "to be completed".

I just looked around at what other recipies were doing that needed to
do the same thing.
