Mark,

I tried reversing the order of the commands and it does boot, but all I end up getting is a pile of gibberish after the kernel is uncompressed and booted ... no boot sequence or anything ... eventually, if I hit enter enough, I get the login prompt, but I am thinking that the communication is garbled as well.

I used the kermit settings from org.openembedded.dev/contrib/gumstrix/build/kermit-setup, is that still a valid setup for Kermit?

Sean

Try executing the setenv before the fatload (leave out the rw) and then use
bootm a2000000.  This works for me.
