I have wermit on my gumstix and ckermit on my laptop with the RS232 USB converter.
Connect to your gumstix through ckermit, then run wermit on the gumstix and use the wermit command "get <filename>" to set the gumstix as a kermit server. Control will automatically be transferred back to the ckermit "client", then just "send <filename>".

I'm uploading a simple file, not a filesystem. I would like to work on
my gumstix with my laptop, which does not have any serial port. My
desktop-pc has got a serial port and is working with the same settings.
