Hi Kelly,
If the goal is to simply output the image captured from Caspa to your LCD, you can use Gumstix's Yocto image (Kernel 3.5) found here and a script found here.
At this point, hardware acceleration using DSP is mostly likely broken. I'm looking into it.

We are not required to stream over IP but just thinking of a simple module to display video such as an LCD screen. Is there source available? If I want to do some basic Image processing how do Access the DSP.

Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Simple Video in Video Out

Im am tasked to do the exact same thing as you are doing.  If started with
the video to ip streaming. It will be useful to follow the following links:

General Instructions:
http://gumstix.org/software-development/open-embedded/61-using-the-open-embedded-build-system.html

Stuff specific to the caspa:
http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Dev/Caspa#Changes_to_the_original_repository

And finally streaming video using gstreamer:
http://www.jumpnowtek.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=81:gumstix-dsp-gstreamer&catid=35:gumstix&Itemid=67

Keep traps:
1) you need to change 2 config files to specify 2.6.34 version of Linux
2) clean and clean often. remember what you bitmake so you can go back and
clean it if you make changes, especially to the OS version (just in case you
already have built a kernel on your system)

After streaming out, I plan to re-build the os for displaying the stream. If
you do not plan to use an HDMI display and plan to use a small screen driven
from one of the gumstix expansion pcbs, you will need the spi lines, so you
will need to take out support for the caspa and add the display (I think).

Also, cleans seem to erase the output files in tmp/deply/glibc/images/overo
so if you need them outputs, save them.
