I did some playing with 1wire a while (over a 1 year) ago, but did not get too far using overo's own 1-wire bus master. Last time I tried, the w1 kernel driver did not support 1-wire mode, only HDQ.
In the end I went with a USB 1-wire master (http://www.hobby-boards.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1503), which works nicely with owfs. I had a couple of DS1810s and HIH-4021 -based humidity sensors hooked, read their values every minute and produced graphs with rrdtool with an Overo Earth + Chestnut43 combo.
I also have a 8-port hub kit that I yet have to assemble, but the project got downprioritised lately...
Haven't given up on the w1 driver though, I'm planning to have a go at the 3.x kernel series to check if things have improved.

I haven't personally tried 1-wire however I'd be interested in finding
a simple usage that I can use as a test for this function.  If you've
got something in mind that fits the bill, let me know.
