I don't believe that you can "hotplug" the microSDHC, perhaps that is your problem.
  1. Power off the gumstix
  2. Insert the card
  3. Power on the gumstix
  4. partition # fdisk /dev/mmcblk0
  5. format # mkfs.ext3 /dev/mmcblk0
  6. mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/
Sometimes your disk is automounted in `/media/mmcblk0p1`.
If so, be sure that you remount with the `async` option
or that your /etc/fstab has it set.
Otherwise your transfer rates will be very slow.

I am booted into OS running on Gumstix, but how to mount microSD card? I want to use it as file storage. But I can't see how to mount it.
I have only this when booted:
