I'm looking at it -- I need to set up a couple machines (win & lin) to do usb testing with; first though I'm working on the 'hanging at "freeing init memory"' bug, which it looks like should be resolved easily enough by turning SSP back on (or possibly a better fix might be backing out the SSP patch), without turning PIE back on since PIE on seems to cause problems with the dynamic library loader.

Can anyone help with this issue ?

I still can't figure out anything other than saying that it work #1 with
factory rootfs and doesn't work at all with latest buildroot.

For me, yes. I had 2.6.13 before though.

Doesn't work in 2.6.15.

I've had no luck with DHCP and USBNet since the buildroot went to
2.6.15... but your problem sounds different that what I was seeing.
Did you start having problems after updating from 2.6.11?

Hello,

This seems like a basic question, but I'm really at an impasse.
Until recently, USBnet between the Gumstix and FC3 has been working
flawlessly.  Recently, however, USBnet seems to be failing.  I've
loaded new buildroots onto the gumstix several times since then, and
do not know whent he failure really started.  Here is what I do know:

-On the gumstix side (I'm accessing it via serial) I can see that the
usb0 interface is up.

-The gumstix reports that it finds the host MAC.

-FC3 sometimes recognizes that it has detected a gadget, and shows it
on 'lsusb'.

-usb0 never comes up on FC3.

-On another Linux box (FC4) the USBnet interface did not come up, and
the gumstix was not shown in the output of 'lsusb'.

-Behavior is not affected by swithcing from a STUART board to a
breakout-gs.

The USB circuitry within the PXA might be fried, or perhaps I'm
lacking some sort of tweak to the latest builds to make USBnet
function.  The wiki only really instructs a user to try plugging the
USB cable in a second time if the interface on either side fails to
come up.

Can anyone suggest a course of action?

Thanks.
