Had you rebooted after changing the /etc/modules ? Did you properly format the MMC?

Hi All,

My gumstix hw stack is netmmc, connex-bt, audiostix-II, 1GB rs-mmc card from gumstix.com
I changed /etc/modules to include the mms and exclude the cf
How do I cp files to mmc?

# cat /etc/modules
# MMC support -- uncomment the next two lines to enable MMC if not using CF

# Compact Flash support -- Must load smc91x first!!
# mount
/dev/root on / type jffs2 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
/sys on /sys type sysfs (rw)
udev on /dev type ramfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/mmcblk0p1 on /mnt/mmc type vfat (rw,sync,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw)

# cp test /mnt/mmc
cp: unable to open `/mnt/mmc/test': Input/output error
# cp test /dev/mmcblk0
cp: Write Error: Input/output error
# cp test /dev/mmcblk0p1
